How FoodIndex Works

FoodIndex is an independent restaurant rankings platform. We combine public signals from Google, Yelp, and Uber Eats—ratings, review volume, and consistency across platforms—into one transparent FoodIndex Score so you can compare places fairly within each category and neighborhood.

We do not sell ranking placements. Listings are built from the same data diners already trust when they pick a spot; our job is to normalize it, keep it current, and present it in a clear leaderboard you can actually use.

Every city has a hub page listing all categories we cover—start from New York, Los Angeles, or Chicago and drill into neighborhoods where we have enough data to show meaningful rankings.

Why Trust FoodIndex?

FoodIndex is independent and data-driven: scores are computed from aggregated platform data, not from sponsorships or pay-to-play placement. Rankings are refreshed weekly as new reviews and ratings appear, so what you see reflects how restaurants are performing now—not a static list from last year.

Whether you are planning dinner in Manhattan, lunch in Mid-Wilshire, or a late slice in River North, FoodIndex is built to cut through noise: one score per venue, consistent methodology, and full transparency about where the numbers come from.
